Forager Bike with a Loopwheel for a Local Chef

In the darker days of winter, we sometimes need something inspiring to get us out into the great outdoors. This one does it for me – the beautiful Forager bike from the very talented Sven Cycles in Dorset.

Darron Sven Coppin and Andrew Mogford form Sven Cycles, a workshop near Weymouth in Dorset, on the SW coast of England. Sven Cycles have completed one of their most ambitious projects: a Foraging Bike for a local chef.

Loopwheels’ inventor Sam first met Darren at the brilliant UK handmade cycle show Bespoked, and he approached us about this project about a year ago. As avid fans of the outdoors, foraging, cycling, suspension wheels and cooking in the woods ourselves, we couldn’t wait to see this project completed. And isn’t it beautiful?

The front loopwheel provides great suspension over even the roughest terrain, yet creates enough space at the front of the bike for that wonderfully big basket. Very neat.

Sven Cycles build beautiful handmade bicycles. Check out their website to see British craftmanship at its finest. If you’re near Weymouth, go see them.
